A Brief History
The continent of Sira was originally inhabited by a mix of the Fae and the common ancestor of the Dwarves and Halflings. The Faes inhabited the green wilds while the proto-Dwarves and Halflings were found in the mountains. The Halflings split from the Dwarves as they came down from the Arnak Mountains to inhabit the hills and plains, and both sides lived in relative harmony. The Faes ruled the wild forests, and there were several small skirmishes caused by their feral and reckless behavior. Some 200 years after the Halflings came down from the hills the first Elves came in exploratory ships from Vilan. They formed small colonies on the southern tip of Sira, negotiating with the local Halfling clans for resources and information. Upon learning of the recurring blight of the Fae, they struck a deal with the locals – they would put an end to the Fae raids and destruction in exchange for holdings in the forest. Thus began the Green War, an eight-year conflict between the Faes and the Siran First Alliance. The war ended with a truce, the Fae agreeing to split the forests with the Elves, who promised to keep an eye on the Fae and protect the forests.
